Basic Framework of the Brain

In a simple nutshell, the brain can be divided into three main anatomical parts

  1. The Cerebral Hemispheres- containing the cortex (frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital lobe, diencephalon (hypothalamus, thalamus and 3rd ventricle), basal ganglia
  2. The Cerebellum
  3. The Brainstem- divded into MidBrain, Pons and Medulla
